Scenes from Feast of the Holy Face May 15-16, 2011

This year my wife Liany and I had the great grace to be in Manoppello for the feast of the Holy Face. We took a number of photos and some video as well which I am happy to be able to share through the means of this blog. This is the first installment of our efforts.

Fr. Carmine Cucinelli, O.F.M., Cap., Rector of the Shrine of the Holy Face carries the Holy Face at the end of the Feast to return the relic to its place above the altar of the shrine.

The Holy Face arrives on its way from the Shrine of the Holy Face to within a block of the parish church of San Nicola where it remained overnight, as on the third Sunday of May each year, from Sunday May 15 to Monday morning May 16.
